DIY POM POM WREATH

This is one of my favorite DIY pieces I have done so far and I love bringing it out during the holidays. I made this when I was pregnant with my first born son. I'm the chick that can't just sit on the couch and watch a show. I always need to be doing something so I am happy I enjoy arts and crafts; otherwise who knows what I'd be in for! I truly adore the elegance of the pom pom wreath. It is very simple to make, but does require some hours invested :) So when you find yourself taking that much needed down time and you feel like you need something to do, this is a great project for you!

MATERIALS:

YARN (I liked neutrals, but go wild with your imagination!)

WIRE FRAME WREATH FORM

SCISSORS

TWINKLE LIGHTS (optional)

HOW TO MAKE YOUR POM POMS

FIRST: Wrap your yarn around and around your four fingers creating a thick wrap of yarn.(to make smaller pom poms use 2 -3 fingers.)

SECOND: Cut a new good length of yarn and tie a knot around the middle of your bundle wrapped yarn. Leave the tail ends (these will be used to tie your pom poms to your wire frame)

THIRD: Once you have tied your pom pom in the middle, start trimming the looped ends down until you get a good fluffy pom pom made.

FOURTH:

Start to tie your pom poms onto your wire wreath frame using those tail ends. Tie all of your pom poms onto the frame and just simple for off any excess string when needed.

Make sure you make enough pom poms to fill up your wreath. You can always make more as you go to fill it in and make it fuller!

Once finished add your twinkle lights and find a place to hang your masterpiece!

I hope you enjoyed making this as much as I did, I've had mine now for almost 7 years and I still am in awe over it every time I pull it out for Christmas!

Share you creations with me over @thelittlebungalow on Instagram! I would love to see what you came up with so I can share it too! xo
