DIY Bleach Dipped Flannels

This is one of my all time favorite #DIY projects! It's just so cool to see the outcome of these flannels because you never know what you are going to get out of it. The colors always end up so beautiful! If you have some flannels you have bagged and ready to donate hang on... revive them and make them new again! You will thank us along with getting a lot of compliments. If you are thrifty like we are go to your local thrift shops and snag a few flannels for only a few bucks! The darker colored flannels tend to make the most striking colors and the lighter flannels will leave you with softer color ways. You only need a few materials and you might even have them already under your sink! Follow our instructions below to start creating your fashion masterpieces!

Materials:

Flannels

Large bucket

Bleach

Water

Rubber Bands

Scissors

Gloves

Instructions:

Tie your flannels off with your rubber bands mid way

Prepare your bleach solution in your bucket using half bleach half water enough so the shirts can soak

Place your flannels so the water level hits about 1 inch from rubber band so water doesn't move past band unless you want it to

Let your flannels soak for about 30 minutes checking on them from time to time. If you like the color they are at you can remove. I left mine in for about 30 minutes then I pulled them out of the solution and let the ends of some of the shirts sit for a few hours to give it that dip dyed effect.

Play around with it and just have fun with it!

After you are done soaking your flannels cut off the rubber bands and squeeze shirt to remove excess solution.

NOTE: try always picking up from wet end and be careful as you might spread bleach to other parts of the shirt

Line dry

Once dry either run them through your washer or hand wash them.

After they are all washed they are ready to wear!

BONUS: The bleach makes them so much softer too!
