KIDS TURKEY HANDPRINT COOKIES

Updated: Sep 21, 2020

GOBBLE GOBBLE

I love doing little things that make the holidays and bit more special for our little ones. This year for Thanksgiving we made these adorable turkey kids handprint cookies. I love the way that they came out + the boys were so excited to paint them and gobble them up!

They were super simple to make, you can either make your own sugar cookie dough or just make it even easier and grab an already prepared dough from the market. Follow the simple instructions below to make your own little turkey treats! YUM!

On a piece of paper trace your little ones hand. Cut it out and set aside. Next grab some flour and a board to roll you dough out on. Once you have your dough rolled out, place your hand cutout onto your dough. Then with a knife simply and carefully cut the dough by tracing the handprint. When you are finished cutting pull off the paper. Sprinkle your cutout dough with some cinnamon + sugar. Set your oven to 350*. Carefully with a spatula transfer your handprints onto a baking sheet. Place in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes. If your hands loose shape don't fret, just quickly take your paper shape and recut your dough while the cooke it still cooling and warm enough to cut into without damaging its shape. While your cookies are cooling grab your icing + food coloring. Mix your colors out depending on the colors that you want. Grab some paint brushes + get creative. Your little turkeys will soon come to life. I put mine in the fridge for a bit so everything set just so and they were perfect for an after dinner Thanksgiving treat that got GOBBLED up so fast! Have fun with it!
